An Association that Becomes an ‘OASIS’ for All Members through ‘Innovation 25’

 

● Open Gate (Openness)

○ Specialization and Transparency in Operations

·         Mandate transparent financial usage by setting clear rules on membership dues usage, including meeting and activity expenses.

·         Restructure staff roles (executives, managers, administrative staff) to improve operational efficiency.

○ Revitalizing the Association’s Structure

·         Establish new external policy cooperation bodies (e.g., ISRRT collaboration).

·         Support the Education Evaluation Center to nurture future radiologic technologists.

1) Regional Chapters

·         Actively support activities encouraging broad member participation.

·         Provide member benefits through a credit card integrated with association membership.

·         Host meetings between officers, delegates (including provincial-level representatives), and members.

2) Professional Societies

·         Regular council meetings with society chairs to gather feedback and reflect in operations.

·         Promote professional society activities through:

o    Autumn academic conferences and international collaboration

o    Support for education and development of specialized radiologic technologists

3) National University Student Support Committee (Radiological Science Majors)

·         Provide mentoring on licensing exams, thesis writing, etc.

·         Expand and strengthen the role of the Education Evaluation Center.

4) Collaboration with Related Organizations (e.g., ultrasound, revisions to Medical Technicians Act)

·         Assign dedicated staff for cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the National Assembly.

·         Operate policy development committees in cooperation with professional bodies such as the Korean Medical Association and Nurses’ Association (with continuity in committee members).

·         Actively support the Health and Medical Labor Law with allied groups like the Korean Association of Medical Technologists.

5) Reinforce Ethics Committee Procedures

·         Establish criteria and structure for exclusion, disqualification, recusals, and sentencing guidelines.

○ Standardize Administrative Processing

·         Promote digitization and computerization of administrative workflows.

○ Offer Welfare and Openness for Members

·         Provide convenience facilities at the association headquarters (e.g., book café, rest areas).

·         Organize major annual events (e.g., "Radiologic Technologists Day").

·         Offer accident insurance benefits to regular members.

 

● Sharing

○ Activate Communication with Members

1) Communication

·         Communicate through general assembly meetings twice a year.

·         Strengthen interaction with members via SNS.

2) Legal and Labor Support for Members

·         Support for medical dispute consultations via legal firms.

·         Assist with labor disputes and provide free consultation.

·         Help in cases of unfair dismissal and workplace grievances.

·         Report and legally respond to unauthorized practices.

·         Offer legal support for issues related to local chapters and academic societies.

○ Strengthen Members’ Rights and Interests

1) Membership Dues

·         Explore strategies to reduce the financial burden of annual fees.

2) Specific Member Rights Initiatives

·         Legalize employment laws specific to radiologic technologists and fee structures for their procedures.

·         Introduce whistleblower protections under the Public Interest Whistleblower Protection Act.

·         Compile a 60-year association history under the Records Preservation Committee Chair.

3) Enhance Quality and Accessibility of Member Education

·         Develop diverse online/offline continuing education programs.

·         Renew content (e.g., YouTube).

·         Create educational materials using VR, metaverse, etc.

·         Develop specialized professional education programs (e.g., for doctors, lawyers, labor attorneys, administrative officers) and support recruitment of expert instructors.

 

● Service

○ Implement Member-Centered Policies

1) Key Policy Initiatives

·         Prepare clinical training programs in response to mandatory clinical practice requirements.

·         Draft legislation for appropriate staffing standards for radiologic technologists.

·         Conduct consulting to develop the association’s medium-to-long-term vision.

a. Structuring Communication Within the Association

·         Appoint experts (including vice presidents or external professionals) as committee chairs.

·         Items approved by committees to be submitted as official agenda to the executive board and, if necessary, to the board of directors.

·         Establish a prompt response system to members' inquiries and adhere to response deadlines.

b. Activate Policy Hearings and Forums

·         Host forums for direct election of the central association president.

·         Establish open bulletin boards without restrictions to gather members' input.
